Hi, guys, recently there are some people accuse that Midnight Sun album selling is a lie. They don't believe that the album sold well. Thus, we all know that fan sites make the campaign to collect the receipt of us buying the album as proof to those people. As Beauty, we already know how strong our army is. K-beautys do very well to cheer the boys, so do the overseas Beautys. We always become one to protect the boys because Beast never does wrong. Here, it is the new post of prof. Son Ilrak - Beast' Dong Woon's father - in his cyworld regarding this issue (and the copycat issue). I can't agree more with his opinion, let haters hate, because Beautys will always behind the boys.

 

 The country that hurts when it's cousin buys a land

우리나라 사람들~ 그리고 대한민국~
정말이지 난 사람도 많고, 든 사람도 많은 나라입니다.

올림픽만 보아도 그렇습니다.
동쪽 한 귀퉁이 그 작은 나라에 이처럼 빼어난 인물, 걸출한 인물이 많다는 사실은 참으로 불가사의한 일이 아닐 수 없으며,
자랑스럽기 짝이 없는 일입니다.

하지만 말입니다.
우리나라 사람들~ 그리고 대한민국~
겉껍질을 살짝 벗겨내고 보면 추악한 면, 야비한 면도 없지 않습니다.

비근한 예로 우리나라 사람들은 잘난 사람을 보면 칭찬하거나 격려하기보다는 대놓고 시기하고 무조건 깎아내리기 일쑤입니다.
오죽하면 사돈이 논을 사면 박수를 치기는커녕 공연히 배알이 튀틀리고 배가 아프다는 속담까지 있을까요.

그렇다면 우리나라 사람들, 못난 사람들에 대해서는 자상하게 위로하고 배려할까요?
천만의 말씀, 만만의 콩떡입니다.
한국인은 주변에 덜 떨어진 친구가 있으면 대놓고 멸시를 하거나 왕따를 시키는 경우가 허다합니다.

도대체 그 이유는 무얼까요?
이 점에 대해 작고하신 조선일보 이규태 선생님께서는 이런 말을 하셨습니다.

한국인이 지향하는 인간상은 <평균인간>으로, 우리나라 사람들은 자고로 지나치게 잘난 사람,
지나치게 못난 사람에 대해서는 기피하는 문화를 지니고 있었다고 말입니다.

뭐, 우리나라는 숙명적으로 쌀농사가 어려운 나라인지라 한 날 한 시에 볍씨를 뿌리고 모내기를 하며 물꼬를 내고
추수를 않으면 굶어죽을 수밖에 없었기 때문에 툭하면 열외를 하는 잘난 사람과 장애인을 배척하거나 업수이 여길 수밖에 없었다나요?

하지만 지금은 뉴밀레니엄의 시대이자, 국제화 시대입니다.
이러한 시대에는 그 어느때보다 넓은 시야와 대인배적인 자세가 필요하다고 생각하지 않으세요?

게다가 우리의 적은 내부에 있는 것이 아니라 외부에 있습니다.
작금의 국가 간 경쟁과 자국이익 중심주의가 판치는 현실을 감안할 때 우리나라 사람들이 피아간에 마음을 열고
일치단결할 필요가 있음은 새삼 강조할 필요조차 없습니다.

비스트가 1년 2개월만에 컴백을 했습니다.
팬사인회를 계기로 음반에 대한 반응이 뜨겁자 격려와 칭찬을 보내기는커명 한국인의 그 지독한 고질병이 도지고 있는 것 같습니다.
아무런 근거도 없이 <사재기>다 뭐다 루머를 만들고 비난하는 이들이 나타나고 있는 것입니다.

도대체 못난 사람은 격려하고 잘난 사람에 대해서는 박수를 보내는 대인배가 넘치는 세상이 될 수는 없는 것일까요?

지금 비스트의 일부 팬들이 앨범을 구입한 영수증의 인증샷을 모으는 캠페인을 벌이고 있습니다.
도대체 얼마나 억울하면 이처럼 수고스런 일을 하기로 작정했을까요?

하지만 그렇게 한다고 루머를 양산하는 이들이 곧바로 잘못을 인정하고 사과할까요?
나는 아니라고 생각합니다.
그것은 그들의 목표가 영수증이 아니라 그저 잘 나가는 비스트와 그 팬덤이 그냥 미워서 돌을 던지는 것이기 때문입니다.

하여 나는 팬들이 아무리 억울하고 화가 나도 이러한 루어메 대해 그냥 무관심-무대응-무저항으로 대응하길 바랍니다.
그렇게 되면 마음이 비뚤어지고 꼬일 대로 꼬인 이들도 틀림없이 제풀에 지쳐 나가떨어질 것이기 때문입니다.

그리고 이왕에 얘기가 나온 김에 말입니다만 한국인의 고질병 중에는 <편 가르기>도 있습니다.
학연, 지연, 혈연의 폐혜가 얼마나 큰지는 새삼 설명하지 않겠습니다.

그런데 세상에~ 우리나라에는 팬덤 간의 갈등도 상상을 초월하는 것 같습니다.

그 극적인 예가 <비스트>가 <따라쟁이>라는, 말도 안 되는 비난입니다.
베스티즈 게천에 올라와 있는 그 글의 조회 수는 헐킈~ 무려 3만이 넘더라구요.

내가 알기에 비스트와 비스트가 모방했다는 그 그룹은 추구하는 음악이나 스타일이 완전히 다릅니다.
그렇다면 비스트가 도대체 뭘 모방했다는 걸까요?
금발로 염색한 것? 알록달록한 옷을 입은 것?

아하~ 이제 알겠습니다.
비스트 멤버들은 그 그룹의 멤버들과 마찬가지로 눈이 두 개이고, 코가 한 개입니다.
이것은 심각한 모방이자 표절입니다.

생각해 보니 또 있네요.
비스트는 그 그룹의 멤버들처럼 반지도 끼고, 목걸이도 하고, 세상에 바지도 입고 있습니다.
이것은 비스트가 그 그룹을 모방하고 있다는, 하늘도 부인할 수 없는 확실한 증거입니다.^^

여러분~
제발, 그러지들 맙시다.
여러분은 대한민국의 미래입니다. 희망입니다.

거듭 말하지만 우리의 경쟁자는 내부에 있지 않습니다.

Koreans are oriented by the image of an <average man>. This is why when Korean see someone doing really well
Or someone falling really behind, we tend to avoid them.

Well, does this mean that we decided to leave out the disabled and the people doing well because Korea was a country that was hard to harvest rice
And if we didn't plant a certain seed at the certain time then we would have all starved to death?

Anyways now it's the new millennium age and an age of internationalization.
At an age like this, don't you think that we need a wider perspective and and greater heart for others?

On top of that, our enemies are not inside, but outside.
In the midst of the ongoing competition between national interests and centrism, we should not have to emphasize the fact
That the people in our country should open up our hearts and find a compromise.

BEAST made a comeback in a year and 2 months.
Due to the great album sales through the fan signing events, rather than sending warm encouragement and praises, Koreans are being diagnosed with that horrible chronic illness.
Some people are making rumors that BEAST's album sales number was a lie without any proof whatsoever.

Is it impossible to live in world where people clap for the people doing well and encourage the people who aren't doing well?

Right now, BEAST's fans are holding a campaign to gather all the receipts showing the purchase of the albums.
How frustrated do you think they must have been to decide on doing such a hard work?

However, do you think that these people making these rumors will admit that they were wrong and apologize?
I don't think so.
That is because their goal isn't to see the receipts, but they are just throwing rocks because they hate seeing BEAST and their fandom doing so well.

This is why I think the fans should ignore and not care about such rumors even though it's not fair and it makes them angry.
That way, these people who have a twisted heart will eventually tire out and disappear.

In addition, since I am on this topic, there is another chronic illness that Korean people have and it's <choosing sides>.
I won't begin to explain where this takes place.

But oh my~ the troubles between fandoms are out of this world as well.

The best example of this is the obnoxious rumor that BEAST are copy cats.
The post on bestiz about this issue has way~ more than 30000 views.

From what I know, this group that BEAST is accused of copying has a totally different dressing style and music style.
Then what did BEAST exactly copy?
Getting a blonde dye? Wearing certain colors?

Aha~ Now I get it.
BEAST members, like the members of that group, has two eyes and one nose.
This is definitely a serious case of plagiarizing and copying.

Now I think about it there is more.
Like this other group, BEAST members wear rings, necklaces, and oh my they even wear pants.
This is definitely the evidence that even the heavens can agree that BEAST is copying this group.^^

Please, let's not be like that.
You guys are the future of Korea. The hope.

I say this again, but our competitor is not between us.

[FANFIC] "I DON'T KNOW LOVE" part 1

It was late. It was already midnight. But my eyes still opened widely. I couldn’t count the stars because it was raining outside. I opened my window, let the sound of rain flooded my room. I missed that person so bad. I looked at the clock, 12 pm. It was a real midnight. What that person doing right now, I kept asking myself. He didn’t even give me a call today. That person was a foolish. He didn’t know how much I was starving wanted to meet him.

“Ding dong!” the bell door rang. I got shock for seconds. Then, probably that was that person, I ran happily to the door. And yes, that was that person. I opened the door with trembling hands. I felt so nervous and happy at the same time.

“Hi.” He said while walking entered my room. He sat in the sofa and put his bag in the floor. He closed his eyes while sighing. I still couldn’t move from where I stood now. The feeling saw him like that was so amazing, yet painful. He had to be very tired, now. Like really. I wanted to hug him and help him to release stress. But that person seemed busy enough with his thought. “Hi, why are you still standing there?” he opened his eyes, looked at me, and gave me a hand sign to sit beside him.

“Ah, wait.” I closed the door and tried to smile widely. If that person was in a very tired mode on now, I shouldn’t look pitiful too. I walked toward him. He gave me space in the sofa and smiled at me. How could you smile right now? I just kept wondering, he was not a human. The tired mode on was all over his face, but still he smiled. “Have you had dinner?” I asked. He nodded. “Good then.” I sat beside him.

“It’s raining hard outside.” He said while paying attention at my fingers, oh no, he saw my fingers. God bless me. How could I was this foolish. Oh, andwae. “Wait. What happen with your fingers?” He asked. Ah, hell, what should I say?

“Nothing, I just got it cut just now because I couldn’t properly peel the apple.” I answered quickly while hiding my fingers fast. “Oh, yes, I remember, I found something on this fan site. You look so much fun, boss!” I ran to my laptop and brought it to him. “Look, it was you, you bosseuuu, bosseuuu, look! Haha… your fans are crazy, they could take this kind of photo. Haha. Admit it, even you don’t know that you had once posed like that, right? Is it right, bosseeeuu?” I was laughing when looked at that fan taken photo where he posed like a boss in stage. Yet, funny, he never acted like a boss in front of me. Not in my room, at least. “But, where is your bracelet?” this was my point actually.

He stopped smiling and looked at my face. “Ah, mian, I left it in dorm this morning. I must be in hurry. Mian, okay?” He took my hand and touched my cut fingers. “You should be more careful, your fingers are everything. Don’t get it cut again, okay?” I nodded. “So, all the day you just starring at that laptop and browsing the fan site and saving my photos?” he laughed so loudly, “although we can always meet at any time?” he ruffled my hair.

Yes, that what I did all this day. You just didn’t know how tiring it was to be with you.

“Yah, don’t laugh. Wae? Shireo? I like it.” I said while standing put aside his hand from my head.

“Yah, where will you go?” he yelled at me. And I just smirked, went to kitchen. “Yah, yah, Miinah, neo!” he yelled more loudly. I laughed. His yelling is best.

“Wait, I take you the apple juice I made just now. Wa..,” Before I opened the refrigerator, I could feel a warm body in my back and two hands lingered my neck, “…it.” I couldn’t continue my word, couldn’t take a breath, and stayed still with my right hand in the refrigerator door. I could feel his breathing in my neck, and his heart beating in my back. He was just too close. Too close to my heart.

“Stay still…” he said, “just for a moment.”

I nodded.

“Is there something happened?” I asked. I worried him. Yes, like always worried him is my job.

“Sst. At this kind of time, you should keep silent. Don’t talk.” He hugged me more tightly. I held his hands with my cold fingers. Ah, why must today my fingers got so cold? I was frustrated by myself when he said “Tonight, I will sleep here.”

I held my breath and nodded after that. “Yes, you may.” I closed my eyes and felt our heart beat sound had replaced the sound of rain which flooded my room just now. We were standing closely in the kitchen, in front of the refrigerator. He hugged me so close and didn’t even talk. He did exactly the same two months ago when he stressed over the album recording.

And now what was it about?

“Dujunie. Dujunie.” I touched his hand. He didn’t even move. He just made the ‘ehm ehm’ sound. I smiled. Looked at his bare face and the mess hair of his were the best. I touched his eyebrows, nose, cheek, sideburn, and lips softly. How lovely my man was. He was just this ordinary but really a cool person when on stage. I kissed his cheek, just a second, and going to down from bed when a hand held my right hand. I turned back and found him smiling while opened his eyes, “Morning.” He said.

“Ehm, morning, bosseu! Now, you wake up?” I looked at his face while poking his nose. He caught my hands and embraced me into his chest, still laying in the bed. “Aw, bosseu, it hurts, you know.” I said while punching his chest. He laughed. “Are you hungry? I was about to cook French toast just now so you know. But why you woke up?” I said when he stroking my hair.

“For a moment, please.” He kept stroking my hair. And I stayed still in his embrace. I could feel his heart beat. It was not in full speed. But it was not slowly either. It was just so normal. Meanwhile, in this condition my heart was really in a mess. “What time is it?” he asked finally.

“Nine.” I said, “Don’t you think you are running late for the fan meeting event?” I looked at him. He looked at my eyes. Then he moved the gaze to the roof.

“I don’t care. Let them wait for me. Just for a moment, I want be with you.” He said. I coughed.

“Hya, we already had a night together. What’s the matter? Is there something wrong?” I tried to sit but he held me. “You didn’t say a single word last night. Ehmm, what had happened Dujunie?” I asked.

He woke up and sat in the bed. I sat beside him. He looked at me. “You are like Junhyungie nagging too much. Ara?” I opened my eyes widely, “Mwo?” I was going to nag more when in sudden his lips touched mine. While kissing me, he said “This lips need to learn.”

Dujun had gone. Yeah, he went to his fans’ embraces. I just had a night to hug him but he went all the way to his fans. He didn’t care how tired he was, he always put smile on his face. He did the same to me, but he could always freely express his tiredness. I kept looking at his back when he walked leaving me alone in my room. I sat in the dining room, stared at the leftover French toast. I could scent his perfume all over the room.

Today gonna be a long day again, waiting him to call me, text me, or meet me.

It’s hard to be with you. I said this for million times now. Sorry.

“Nuna, thank you for kimchi you sent to the dorm.” I could hear Dongwoon’s voice through my cell phone. He was always cheerful. “It’s very tasty. We have planned to eat it every day.” I laughed so hard when I could hear some random sounds in his back, like “Hyaa, give me my hand phone!” that must be Dujunie. Or Junhyungie: “Hyaa hyaa Dongwoonie gives back the phone!” or Seob’s: “Give me the hand phone, me too want to talk with Miinah.” I couldn’t hear Hyunseung. He must be busy with his own life. And Kikwang too, he must be recording Win-Win now.

I could feel at ease after hearing their sounds like this. It meant Dujun would never feel lonely by himself. He had five good boys around him.

“Oh, Miinah.” Now, it was Dujun’s voice. “Now I’m alone, in my room. Thank you for kimchi you sent. The kids like it so much.”

“Ah aniya. Your dorm quite noisy, bosseu.” I said while turning on my television. “How is your day?” I asked.

“Good. We had done all the schedule, and now resting. Only Kikwang still recording Win-Win.” He said while lying on bed. I could hear the cracking wood.

“Are you lying on bed, right?” I asked.

“How do you find out?” He asked. “Smart girl, as always.”

“Hmm…”

“What’s with the ‘hmmm’?” he asked. “Miinah-ah….”

“Yes?”

“I miss you.”

Silent. Then we kept silent for some minutes.

“Are you there?” he asked.

I kept silent.

“You sleep already?” he asked, sounded worry.

“Dujunie…” I whispered.

“Oh, Miinah-ah. I thought you sleep.”

“Turn on the television now. Quickly!” I said in panicking. I just saw my photo on television screen. It was so big made my eyes hurt and beside my photo was Dujun’s. The news about ‘Who is Dujun’s girlfriend?’. I couldn’t breathe. And went blank.

“What happen, Miinah-ah?” I could hear Dujun’s foot step and the ‘click’ sound after he sat in the sofa while the other members start asking “Wae hyung?” or “Something happen, Dujun-ah?” or “Why in hurry, is there any important news?” and suddenly it went so silent. Like really.

“Dujun-ah, have you watched?” I asked. Hope my voice was in normal tone. But nope, I was in panicking. I couldn’t think properly.

“O.. o oh. I have.” He took a breath. “I’m going to your apartment.”

“Hyung, andwae…” I heard Dongwoon’s voice, “Sehun hyung had texted me, many reporters already come to in front of our dorm.”

“Dujun-ahh. You stay still there. I will be okay here.” I lied. I held my tears not to fall. “Until the reporters had gone, you may come here. But just not now. Or we gonna be in a mess.” I said.

“Miinah-ahh, I’m sorry.”

“No, no, it’s okay. Okay, bosseu…” I said. Once again lied. “Hang up.” I cut the phone connection.

I sat on the floor, watching my face appeared on television was so weird. That was not the problem. The matter was how Dujun would let this problem out. Once again, I troubled him.

I cried.

I cried to all content of my heart.

(120802) BEAST: COMEBACK AND WON AT 300th MCD

 
Oyeah, today BEAST won over Boa (SM) and Psy (YG) *kyaaaaa I'm happy* Thank you K-beautys! ^^ Do you know what happen today with the boys' schedule? They were just back from Japan and arrived in Incheon rite before the MCD. Then they ran to the MCD and perform both song 'its not me' plus 'its beautiful nite'. And rite after that, Hyunseung went to the Mozart Musical for his last stage. The boys were  running here and there in a day, but they still could give us their best performances, even they won the battle. Such hard working boys. From their eyes I can see how tired they are. Dujun's eyes looks more little hahaha *justkid*. LOL. I'm a proud beauty to write this that our six boys are the right people for having the trophy. kkk.

Hi guys, 

Recently I am watching a drama entitled 'Can You Hear My Heart'. This was last year drama, but I'm happen to watch it now. At first, this drama seems running very slowly makes me bored. But, after patiently watching it, I get addicted. This is not because the casts are super handsome or pretty or so on. But because the story itself is great to be watched. I mean, the story line can't be easily predicted. And the acting skill of the casts are superb. hag hag. Besides, the unique story line gives me goosebumps whenever the female lead and the male lead doing some romance thingy because it is put beautifully and not gross. lol.

I'm going to review this drama after I'm finishing it. kekeke. It's just because this drama is cool. Yeah.

I was like crying when reading Son Ilrak's post in his site (son-ilraks-cyworld-update). As usual, Dongwoon's dad is the best to make me cry after reading any of his posts. Whatever kind of post, yesss! He is the best dad ever that always pays attention to his son's activities (and also other boys' dads do the same). I was officially crying when he talked about yesterday fan meeting. He talked about Beauty and Beast photo as living piece of history. Oh well, I am an international Beauty and can't ever attend something like those fan meets. But, I also can be considered as living piece of history while everyday cheering for the boys from so so so far away position. I can't be on the sun waiting for the boys, but I can be always by the boys' side to give support with many things to do. We can do that. All of us. Because we are Beauty.

Oh well, when I look at the photo of K-Beautys who flooded the fan meets, I felt so suffocated, the feeling wanted to fly there couldn't be held. LOL. One day. Yeah. One day.  Son Ilrak wrote that based on this condition, Beautys understand and accept BEAST the way they are is powerful. For me, my personal opinion, I never accept the boys who the way they are but I accept their endless amount of effort towards challenges to show who they are. When the boys are not good enough, then I will say that they are not in their best state. But, when the boys brave enough to do some transformation I'm gonna understand and accept the way they are showing who they are. And for this comeback, thumbs up. Whatever the muse is, their music really reach me well, just like their previous albums.

Son Ilrak gave compliment to Dujun. This makes me cry a river how Son Ilrak described him was the best. 'There is this friend of mine who deserves compliment' he wrote. This friend of his refers to Dujun. He likes the way Dujun acted as leader. He tried to say that Dujun is a real-responsible-leader.

I wonder why I keep loving this boy, why I never get tired loving this boy. Thank you for Mr. Son Ilrak who has opened my eyes. Because none other than this boy can be loved, that's the answer, right in front of my nose. 사실, 나는 개인적으로 비스트의 컴백이 지나치게 늦어진 데다 그들이 준비한 음악도 지금까지와는 사뭇 달라서 걱정을 많이 했습니다.

게다가 팬들 중에 이탈한 이들도 꽤 있다는 소문, 루머도 돌아 무언가 잘못된 것은 아닌가 노심초사했습니다.



그런데 오늘 운집한 팬들과 그들의 진심 어린 성원을 보는 순간, 그 모든 걱정과 근심이 기우에 불과했습니다.

역시 율리시즈처럼 끊임없이 노력하고 모험을 추구하는 비스트와 그것의 가치를 평가하고 인정하는 뷰티의 힘은 참으로 위대합니다.

아니 눈물겹도록 아름답습니다.



참! 그리고 오늘은 특별히 칭찬할 친구가 한 사람 있습니다.

그것은 바로 요즘 노래 가사에까지 등장할 정도로 대세 중에 대세인, 비스트의 리더이자 국민남친돌 돌벅지인 윤두준 군입니다.



나는 오늘 우연히 팬 미팅을 하는 자리에 비스트가 등장하는 장면을 찍은 동영상을 우연히 봤습니다.

그런데 앞장을 선 두준 군이 <뷰티가 땡볕에 있는데 우리가 그늘에 있을 수 없다>며 차양밖으로 성큼성큼 걸어나가지 않겠습니까?



그것은 말입니다.

누가 시킨 것도 아닙니다.

절대로 연출한 장면도 아니었습니다.

그것은 뷰티에 대한 비스트의 자연스런 감정이었다고 확신합니다.



나는 그것을 보는 순간 두준 군에 대한 무한신뢰감을 느겼습니다

세상에 리더라는 사람은 근본적으로 이래야 되는 것 아니겠습니까?

얘기가 새지만 나는 우리나라의 그 잘난 정치가들이 정말이지 두준 군의 반의 반(25%)이라도 닮는다면 얼마나 좋을까 하는 생각이 들었습니다.



그리고 내친 김에 한 가지 더.

비스트 멤버들은 광화문대첩이 있던 날, 운집한 팬들을 위해 무려 3천 그룻의 팥빙수를 준비했다죠?

이런 얘기를 한다면 팔불출이라 놀리는 이들이 있겠지만, 나는 그런 발상을 한 비스트에 대해 무한 칭찬을 보내고 싶습니다.

도대체 3천 그릇이나 되는 팥빙수를 어떻게 준비했을까요?

It was a collage of a photo of the fan meeting before their debut, a photo of fan meeting that took place in Deungchondong around this time last year, and a photo of the fan meeting that took place right after they had completed their comeback stages despite a long break and risky change~~~

That photo was the evidence of the love between B2UTY and BEAST, and it was what they call a living piece of history.

To be honest, I personally worried a lot because BEAST's comeback was delayed and the music they prepared was so different from what they had displayed before.

On top of that I heard rumors that fans were leaving the fandom so I kept on thinking that something must have gone wrong.

But today, when I saw the fans and the truth in their hearts, all the worries and negative thoughts became a matter of unfounded fears.

Of course, the sight of BEAST putting forth their endless amount of effort towards challenges like Ulysses and the strength of B2UTIES who understand and accept BEAST the way they are is powerful.

No, it's so beautiful to the point it brings me tears.


Also! There one person who is a friend of mine who deserves a compliment.

It's BEAST's leader, nation's boyfriend idol, rock-thighs Yoon Doojoon, who is so popular these days that even his name appears in song lyrics.


I happened to watch a video of BEAST arriving at the fan meeting location.

Watching the video, I saw Doojoon, who was leading the boys saying <We can't be under the shade when B2UTIES are in the sun> as he was walking out of the shade.


Those were his words.

No one made him say it.

It wasn't even a scene he had acted out before.

I am confident that was BEAST's natural feeling they have for B2UTIES.


The moment I saw that, I felt an infinite amount of confidence in Doojoon.

Shouldn't all leaders in the world essentially be like him?

I might be wondering off topic, but I thought how great it would be if the "great" politicians of our country resembled Doojoon. Even at least 25%.


And since I am on this topic, one more thing.

When BEAST members were performing at Gwanghamoon, they prepared 3000 bowls of patbingsoo (shaved ice) for the fans right?

Others might say that I am biased for saying things like this, but I really want to give infinite amount of praise to BEAST for even thinking about doing this.

How in the world did they prepare 3000 bowls of patbingsoo?

[MV REVIEW] BEAST'S "IT'S A BEAUTIFUL NIGHT" MV: A NIGHT OF BEAUTY AND (the) BEAST

Should I write it or not? I keep asking myself because the feeling of this MV is kinda good and a bit complicated to be reviewed. Besides, I believe many people gonna review this MV (for instance, Simon and Martina of Eat Your Kimchi). So, I tell you guys (whoever you are who reading this review), this review of mine is based on my point of view. So, what I write here is just based on knowledge and experiences I have gotten all this time. And once more, there's no such thing like false or wrong in the named of interpretation. As long as it's relevant and can be accepted well, then it's OK. However, I write this one is for BEAST and of course, us, BEAUTY. lols.

OK, every BEAUTYs who still reading this review, are you curious or not satisfied enough with your own interpretation of this MV? Well, probably this review gonna help you a lit bit to understand what actually the boys want to unveil. And guys, remember this, I am going to review it using symbolism approach. You know what I mean? something like the words, colors, and other stuffs being symbolized and have deeper meanings. Besides, I'm going to reveal some words that have relation with NYC, and this goes the same with my previous review of theme MV "MIDNIGHT" (BEAST 'MIDNIGHT' MV REVIEW: NYC IS NOT JUST A PLACE). The difference is I am also gonna review the lyric along with the scenes in this MV. Unexpectedly this song is sure having deep meaning for every BEAUTYs.

Oh, well, how to begin this review? (kinda awkward I'm thinking when fasting lols *slap slap*). Please watch the MV first, here:

The MV begins with the portrait of rooftop of buildings in sunset feeling like or twilight, yes? And then the next scene the camera moving to the yellow traffic light plank (remember my last review? actually it has connection? wow, CUBE is sure amazing!) which the stop hand appears while in the theme MV it doesn't appear explicitly. Well, first, let's look at this below:

Well, look I have some stuff put in yellow squares. They are: the 'stop' hand sign, no parking, ASVP, and if you can see the words of quel BEAST. Besides, look, there's still the 12ozProphet stuck on the traffic light box. lols. Yes, the intro of this MV is very detail. I'm going to interpret this scene first. The 'stop' hand sign of course has the meaning of 'do not walk' for everyone, right? And 'no parking 8AM-6PM' plank, what do you think about this one? We can't stop there right? We should walk and follow the red arrow which followed by the words quel BEAST. We can walk follow them at 6PM. It means the time of twilight or going to night. Well, after all, this song entitled "IT'S A BEAUTIFUL NIGHT".

Do you know what is quel, guys? At the first time, I realized about this word, I tried to open my English dictionary, but failed, none to be found. In English, we have word quell, not quel. The difference is in the double L and single L. Then, I decided to browse what actually quel is. Oh hella damn, this is so true, they can use any other languages in their songs or  MVs. Thus, I found that quel here is French. Any of you from French? Is it true or not? Kekeke. Well, after finding some clues, if I am not mistaken, quel here can be seen as 'masculine' (refers to male in sentence? something like that). Of course it's for the boys. Quel is singular and the plural one is quels. Why do they use the quel instead of quels? The answer has been right in front of us, yeah, because the boys are one, BEAST. 

Next is the 'ASVP' sticker. What is that? Guys, did you pay attention with this sticker? ASVP is street artist of NYC consist of two person (solifestyle-loves-asvp-feature) that they had been through many things, traveling to the world, and making effort goes into their arts. They mixed Eastern and Western culture in their arts (something like graffiti). Besides, they also have purpose by doing their arts that wanting to make things that were free of any outside influence. They want to be free and enjoy themselves. The great words to be said are they are still developing their voice to be perfectly honest. Don't you think our boys do the same all this time? Although they are famous enough, but still they are going to try something new and develop their voice until reach the most honest voices of them, the great one from them.

This scene can be identified as description of the boys or BEAST, well, like in a movie which always needs description in the beginning of story. It can be said that this scene tries to say: "stop everyone (BEAUTY), the masculine BEAST will show you their voices (result of their arts sense) at night (6 PM and more), just follow them."

The next scene is the camera shot the 'one way' and 'no parking' plank. These planks are very common in NYC. This plank is one of the most used traffic sign in NYC. The message of this sign is actually, don't even think of making right turn (there's no turn). And another popular sign is 'no parking' means 'don't even think to park here." (nyframeofmind) Any of you from NYC, is it true or not? kekeke. Then this scene explains the condition when you follow the boys' way, you have no turn and can't stop (parking). Go all the way with the boys. 

Before our perfect Joker appears, there's scene that the camera shoot words written in wall of building which shined by the sunset yellowish color.

These words have significant meaning. Then, to make sense, this scene has been set properly and Junhyung not just randomly walking there. This is the best scene ever that I understand after watching it twice. There are three nouns: 'stock sizes', 'job lots' and 'new boxes'. What do you think these words mean? Do you have any idea what the relation of these boxes thingy with the boys? Job lot boxes are boxes that people buy and sell on the seconds market. Typically, the boxes are new and have printing from industry on them (cleancarton.com/boxes). Well, then, it can be said as recycled boxes. Remember, once our boys were called as recycled group? Yes, this scene tell about this. But these words can be interpreted in another way too. For me, it has more meaning like 'BEAST is an old group (job lots) with the different charms of each members (stock sizes), but they are trying to develop to refresh their image (new boxes)'. Oh, well, we can choose the more positive way to see the boys, right? After all, in this album they sure try to change into new image *standing ovation*. 

After that, there's a scene where the traffic light turns green appears and other stuffs beside the yellow traffic light are in black color. This probably asks us to pay more attention to the traffic light which means: 'be careful the joy (the yellow traffic light itself, remember my prev review?) goes/begins/starts (the green light)'.

Then, the intro ends, and Gikwang appears to sing the first verse. Then, this is the joy begins!

Guys, do you have any idea seeing these scene caps? There are some stuffs captured: 'community 54', 'snoe man', 'pink boombox', 'no parking' (again), and 'the pick up car with blue and orange (or yellow) color'. Community 54 (community54.com) is a neighborhood lifestyle boutique inspired by creative nostalgia. It's a place where culture mavens and social connectors interact with local artist and designers. Also, the reminiscent of the spirit of times when artists were bound by a creative synergy, all in one space. It's a connecting point for thinkers to collaborate and put out new ideas. Snoe Man is part of Community 54 (community54.com-snoe man) which is kind of graffiti community and they have a private venue for their artistry that bring the various characters. For me, this is good enough as another reason why they shoot the MV in NYC, why? Because based on the description above, we know that they choose the right place to explain who they are. BEAST, at this state, can be considered as artist that bound by creative synergy and interact with people, local artist, and designer (all elements of industry). And also as thinkers, they want to collaborate with other and put out new ideas, and of course in the certain venue. The Snoe Man is as the representation of BEAST has the same characterization that is group of people and have private venue for their artistry (music for BEAST and graffiti for Snoe Man) that bring the various characters (BEAST' members characters). Then the 'pink boombox' I will take the symbolization of pink. Pink can represent love (from BEAST to BEAUTY perhaps, lols). Why I decided to analyze this pink color? Because this 'pink boombox' is everywhere in the MV, if you can see. And the 'pick up car with blue and orange color' has several meanings. Car is as symbol of power/mobility/movement forward (www.tobysimkin.com), blue is for loyalty (and sky), and orange for demanding of attention (three-musketeers.net/mike/colors). Thus in a sentence, it refers to: 'BEAST has the power to demand attention and loyalty'. Wow, this cool, eh?

On the other hand, Gikwang wears t-shirt with 'just say' print words on it. A song is actually like sentences with  message being delivered to others, right? It has the same meaning with 'to say something to other people but put the words in the lyric and music, and it is delivered by singing'. Oh well, for me, this part is to show to the people that BEAST tries to deliver something (message). And there will be no stop, look at the 'no parking 24 hours' sign that found in the scene where Gikwang dance confidently.

 
The next scene is when Yoseob stands beside the yellow traffic light which once again the 'hand sign' appear and there are 'pink boombox' and 'something in yellow and white'. These colors can be identified as 'love (pink), joy (yellow), and youth (white)' (three-musketeers.net/mike/colors). Besides, boombox can be viewed as music. After that the scene where the black people appears with his skateboard, all in black, except the yellow sidewalk, line, the orange plus green color and the 'out' words in the wall beside the skateboarding boy. Black is meant as power and the yellow thingy can be said as joy. If it put together with the orange-green-out, it will be: 'the power of BEAST will create some joys when they out to demand attention from the environment (world) along with their love, music, and youth although just in limited period (the yellow line)'. How I say this refers to BEAST? Because, look, the boy wears 'B' T-shirt. lols. Doesn't he? B stands to BEAST of course.

 The next part is Dujun's (MY HUBBY YEAAA~), the awesome rapping part haha *oh mian, I feel so freaking happy right now*. For his scene, the first thing to be shown is the 'silver chain' of car steering. Silver is the symbolization of maturity while the black car itself is the representation of the double power itself (black+car) that heading to future (the bike, remember my prev review) and can't be stopped (no parking sign in garage). And the lyrics of Dujun's rap part are:

Left and right, you shake me up on this disco night
From top to bottom, from front and back, you flip my heart inside out

Then the 'loyalty' sign appears right after the lyric 'you flip my heart inside out' and continued by the next lyric which demand loyalty:

You are like cotton candy, I never get sick of you
Before this night is all over, let’s love all night

This lyric is he can't get sick of 'you' and he asks to 'let's love all night' means he wants to be loyal to the 'you' and demand loyalty as well from this 'you'. Just say it simple, the 'you' here is BEAUTY. And the 'beautiful night' here actually is the period when we can have joy together as one, BEAUTY and BEAST, since their debut days until now and then. 

The next scene is when Dujun walks like a boss and gives a salute expression with his hand. Don't you think it's a way to show 'thank you' to us? Besides, there is the 'stop all way' plank in front Dujun and he continues walking without paying attention because he wants to show the 'love all night'.

The most complicated scene is Dongwoonie's. Until I write this, I am still thinking about what actually these scenes want. lol. But I had figured out something from lyric and these scene. Here below the lyric: 

I still don’t really know love – the moment I first saw you (Whenever I stood in front of you)
I felt a strong wave washing over me
Drenching my heart to the deepest corners oh oh oh oh Girl

In my eyes everything on Dongwoon's body show that he is the royal boy, not rich boy, but one-level-above-us-boy. lol. Look at his shoes (silver stud and yellowish), his blond hair, his necklace, and his red suit. Oh well, damn, he even walks out from a great house (I dunno where, do you happen to know guys?). My first impression is 'oh wow this boy is the God, the Highest (I can't say Almighty lol)' then I tried to understand the lyric. Well, what I got after reading it is about Dongwoon, the royal boy who never feel such thing called love but he knows the sincere feeling (lyric: I felt a strong wave washing over me). And red which the color of his suit can be meant as strong emotion. Well, the strong emotion that he gets from BEAUTY, maybe. ^^ And the dancing-blue-car is showing the power of loyalty (symbolization of blue) between BEAST and BEAUTY.

After that the scenes of Hyunseung where he wears his pink blazer >____< lol. He shows us that he is in love (pink) now. And he sings in front of the yellow building and there's the 'bike path' behind him. It reminds us about: 'love and joy that heading to future (symbolization of bike)'.

The end of his scene is the 'BEAST' graffiti being shown made on the wall by the foreigner. Graffiti (barrypopik.com) has 'going all city' slang which means putting your graffiti on trains in every borough. Graffiti writer usually put their name up on walls using marker, or whatever that can mark the surface (essays24.com/Miscellaneous/Graffiti-Nyc). Graffiti is about your name and 'fame'. It means that BEAST has settled enough to be a great 'star'. It's rather like making mark to their authority place and makes the world know the existence of future 'real legend'.

And after that, the next scenes are about the real story begins. lol. I mean the scenes where we can understand more with what this MV wants to say. And these scenes appear along with Yoseob's lyric part:

I’m yours – only you can make my heart race – I’m outta control
I’m yours, nobody, nobody can take your place
You drive me crazy

And just there, many people, call it fans (BEAUTY and B2STLY) outta control together with BEAST.This MV is not showing about clubbing or whatsoever, but about concert. The stars are in stage and the fans cheer on the floor. Oh well, this is what I get from these scenes. Then, you can guess now that from the lyric of 'It's a star twinkling, beautiful night' (first line of first verse), the word 'star' refers to BEAST. And the beautiful night is the beautiful time when BEAST always in our side.

Then, Junhyung's rap part is giving emphasis to my previous interpretation. Here the lyric:

Something good Nothing better
Just like a limitless credit card
I strengthlessly fall for you, but this feeling isn’t so bad girl
With one cue, I’ll go inside you, without you knowing
You will keep thinking of me, let’s meet in our dreams, I’m waiting for you

Junhyung close his eyes when he raps to 'nothing better' means he wants to go blind to not recognize anything better than us (BEAUTY). BEAST for some reasons has fallen for us, right? They love us like we love them. We can't get rid of each other. It's endless just like a limitless credit card. That's a fact. When Junhyung raps on the 'I'm waiting for you', he shows his hand with rainbow-lips drawn there. Lips according to its symbolization meaning can be seen as sensuality. It's not something porn, lol, but more like the lyric telling us of the boys gonna go inside us. lol.

The later scenes show us about BEAST' power by seating on their cars which there is 'LOYALTY' on it. And the scenes where they emphasize that they have changed now, say good bye to the old BEAST and say hello to the new image of BEAST, the firework (char4u.com/article). Firework according to Chinese symbolization is as representation of sending out the old one and welcoming the ushering of new one. And the individual cuts itself which the fireworks appear behind them also has this meaning. The pink, black, and red suit and the white zebra have meaning like the color symbolization I have explained before: 'love, power, emotion, and youth'.

Don't you guys feel curious why just in a second, the Empire State Building is being shot? According to Encarta (2009), Empire State Building is the tallest building in the world for 40 years. So the logic is this is the tallest building created by human in the world. Then, it's not a false thing for BEAST hoping to be star as high as the empire state. Or it can be viewed as highest as they want. Besides, the foreigner fans are as their proof that they are accepted well in the world. Once more, this MV and song actually tells about 'the beautiful night of BEAUTY and (the) BEAST'. In the last part of this MV, it looks clearly how they response to people around the stage, like Hyunseung hold their hands, etc. It's like scene taken from concert. Then it means BEAST wants us always cheer on them.

Well, so this is all what I got from this MV. This MV and the song itself are very good. Indeed. Once again, they are not copying other concepts. Look at how detail they put every scene how could people say they are just copycat other. Nope. It's sure BEAST went to NYC with a very-prepared-concept.

After all, you get my point? This MV telling us that BEAST will always loyal to BEAUTY and also we gonna do the same. We should hold their hands and walk together as one in this beautiful night to see the star twinkling beautifully. Let's always support them.
