[MV REVIEW] JIN'S GONE: THE LOVE IS NOT COMPLETELY GONE

Yesterday I watched the MV from Jin’s Gone starring EXO’s Xiumin and Yoojung. I found something interesting from this MV. Although I don’t know it can be included into review or interpretation but I want to elaborate this MV through my point of view and imagination.

So from my point of view, the MV tells us about a boy meets a girl and both of them fall in love into each other, precisely in the difficult and tough situation and place. Both of them meet in the house where they learn to play piano –I don’t know whether that is the girl’s house or not (it’s still a mystery for me LOL). Piano is so classic and not anyone can play it, so just say it that the condition both of them meet because of piano course they take is as the rare fate for both of them. The rare fate is continued into more complicated as the girl is actually blind and the boy suffering from the heart disease. Meanwhile their teacher is so strict. The place where they learn the piano itself is totally creepy as there is this old man standing on the gate waiting for those who come there. The place is totally on a high level of secrecy and not anyone can freely show and talk their minds and ideas. It has been shown by the way the old butler-man hushes the boy to stop talking when he asks ‘she can’t see?’ about the girl who tries to grab the candies which falls to the floor. Both of the girl and the boy can’t do anything on that place as there is this strict teacher with his wooden stick and the old butler-man who set his eyes on them. While, they can’t go out from that place if they want to keep always get along.

On the other hand, my imagination makes my mind to think rather deeper about this MV. There are three persons in this MV which totally show different appearance: the boy, the girl, and the teacher. The boy can see clearly and very pure. The girl can’t see or blind and not really happy. While, the teacher can’t see clearly but tries to see better by wearing the spectacles.

Judging from the boy’s appearance that loves to smile and curious about everything, I can see that he has a pure heart. He also loves to play a lot and shows interest to his surrounding and wants to help others a lot. The first thing makes me believe he portrays that trait is the appearance of the car which he rides, it’s white color. He then smiles to the old butler while slightly bowing. He can see clearly what is in front of his eyes and can’t stay still; he wants to interfere into others life although he knows that his own life is not that great as he suffers the heart disease. He can see thus he walks and lives his life to the fullest because he knows what he does.

For the girl, she is actually forced to get into playing piano. She can’t see but the teacher forces her to keep doing it. From her appearance, I can slightly tell that she doesn't really like what she currently does and wants to resist, but she just can’t. The girl is also portrayed by the car color, black, which means –for me–the anti of the white color, the blackened one, the ‘heart’ hurts a lot and sad. This girl is as the portrayal of those who can’t see their path clearly and is forced to do something and accept it blindly as they don’t know what they should do for their life. The one who force them is their society. As in this girl case, the teacher is as the demanding society symbolization and the girl herself is the walking shadow.

The teacher who wears the spectacles is actually can’t really see clearly but he is not completely blind, and he still can see better than the girl, but not as good as the boy. The spectacles here have great influence for me, as it is the only tool that can help the teacher to see. When the teacher wears the spectacles he starts to act as if he knows and sees what the boy and the girl do and starts to make his own conclusion and tries to separate them. With the glasses on him, he can be seen as the portrayal of society that his point of view changes into ‘what other can see is the more important than what he actually can see’. He actually sees and knows that those girl and boy love each other, but as the society says they are not meant to be, he starts to ignore his own perspective. But, in the end, after everything getting late and regretful, he throws his spectacles away which means he gives up on being someone else but he can’t change anything (when he continues to play piano after the boy being carried away to the car after passed away).

The boy who can see helps the girl who can’t see her path while giving her happiness (the candy) and also holds her hands to walk her with him. They are both happy of being together. But, there is no smooth way of life as fate plays on them. But, for the girl who smiles in the end, it means that she has already could see the slight light of love. That is a lot precious than just being together –you can always feel love cause it will always stay the same, be it with the one you love physically, or not.

Love gives you another couple of eyes to see better.
