There…
there… they started pick on me… there… there… bring me up to their gossip stuff. Haneul sat on a bench at
college’s park, watching five until six girls planted their eyes on to her from
the opposite desk. She sighed before finishing her cola and turned her head to
her left side where this blond guy sitting like there was nothing wrong in
front of his nose, facing his laptop, his hands were busy typing on keyboard. “Dongwoonahh,
which one is better, me get captured in their cameras, or me throw this cola
can to their faces?” Haneul asked, trying to distract Dongwoon from his research
paper. Recently this guy asked her to help him writing –kind of—dialogue to
finish his paper about film –or whatever it was, Haneul didn’t really understand and
care. “Dongwoonahh, and I think I have been no used here, may I go home?” Haneul continued to talk but he kept ignoring me. It was almost an hour he kept her in
this boring place, had a-glaring-and-gazing-and-seeing-and-eyeing-battle with
those fan girls of him. Huh.
“Nuna, I don’t think both of them will give you any good benefit.”
He suddenly said without looking up from his laptop.
“Huh? –” She looked at him, “What
do you mean?”
“I mean… either you get captured
in their cameras, or throw that can to their faces, there is no benefit. Once
your picture gets taken with me, they are just gonna blur it, just like last
time they took photo of me and you, ha-ha-ha, and if you throw the can, they
probably will just ‘boo’ on you, nuna.
Better don’t do both.” He chuckled. “You are actually safe, nuna, my fans in this college won’t harm
you physically, or even dare post it on internet. I can guarantee. Just, endure
their verbal attack, okay, nuna?” He
seemed lecturing Haneul, made her role her eyes while crossing her arms in
front of her chest.
“By the way, Dongwoonahh, there
is this solution to make them stop verbally attack me.” I whispered, in a deep
low voice. “Don’t you feel curious what it is..?”
“What is it, nuna?” He asked, abandoning his laptop, finally –like yeah, fuh.
Haneul smiled, before saying, “You know stop lingering on to me, you!” she
frowned, “the one that make them verbally attack me is none other than you, Song Dongwoon.” She hissed.
“Me?” He pointed to his own nose,
“yeah, that’s true though,” he chuckled, and back to his laptop. This boy –darn—good to be popular,
Haneul sighed, throwing the cola can to the opposite direction, ups, and it hit the top of one of those
girls.
“UPS, SORRY, GUYS!” Haneul stood
up for awhile while raising her right hand, “I DON’T MEAN IT! GET IT?” She high
pitched her voice so that those girls could listen to her every word clearly. The
girls created the low buzz while staring and glaring to Haneul, two of them put
their thumbs down while slid their tongues out. “I SAID SOOOOORRYY!” Haneul
faked on face and back to sit beside Dongwoon who looked at her rather amazed. “Why?
What? –oh please, don’t look at me like that, like me kind of a monster—cruel senior—witch—cannibal—?”
“Nuna, now I know why hyung
like you a lot, you are compatible as hell with him.” He smirked. “Oh well, I
mean, hyung, also sometimes does
those stupid thingies and being mean –and all!” He hissed when Haneul looked at
him intensely. “Don’t look at me like that, nuna.”
Dongwoon didn’t dare to catch Haneul’s eyes, he suddenly got this shivering
feeling and shaking and –o my god, don’t
say Son Dongwoon is actually nervous! He palmed his head mentally.
“Dongwoonie, you –”
“Unnie!” Before Haneul could talk more, there was this girl called
her name. She turned her head toward the voice’s direction. “Haneul unnie!” She looked at a girl with long blond
–reddish hair who ran toward their bench. “How have you been?” She panted,
stood in front of Haneul and Dongwoon whom both of them looked at the girl with
mouth opened.
“Hyuna-ahh, what are you doing
here?” Dongwoon asked.
“Oppa. Don’t forget we gotta go, there is this CF we should tap
right now. Don’t say you forget.” She frowned, looked at Dongwoon who seemed
thinking about something. Hyuna suddenly turned her head toward Haneul. “Unnie, jaljinaeseo?” She asked.
“Hya, why you banmal-ing to nuna?” Dongwoon hit Hyuna’s elbow.
“Hya, oppa-yaa, what’s your problem actually?” She pouted. “She is my unnie, what’s your problem… huh! Unnie, unnie, see, I bought this nail polish, pretty, right –right?” Hyuna
showed her nails to Haneul. Dongwoon scratched his head boringly –uh, girls’ thing is stupid. Haneul
chuckled seeing these guys joked around like that. “Recently I like this peach
color, I thought you had used it before, I liked it so much, unnie –I want to have that pretty nails
like yours. Ehm –what’s color now you wearing?” without asking permission,
Hyuna touched Haneul’s palm, “wow, unnie,
its black! I remember you said you won’t use the black color for the nails, why
now –um—I am sorry, unnie, do I talk
too much…?” Hyuna looked at Haneul who eyed her own ‘black’ nails. She got in a
daze –when the hell did I apply the black
color to my nails? She didn’t even remember coloring his nails with black
one. Last night—two nights ago—when was
it? She must have been really unstable for choosing black –oh, what’s wrong with me…?
“I don’t remember coloring them
with black, Hyuna-ahh.” Haneul said, in a low voice. Hyuna and Dongwoon both
looked into each other face, and turned their heads in sync to eye Haneul who
still staring to her nails. “I must have been crazy choose the black one,
Gayoon gonna mock me if she finds out.” She mumbled.
“Don’t worry, unnie, Gayoon unnie won’t see it by the way…,” Hyuna sat beside Haneul, made
Dongwoon moved aside a little. He hissed but Hyuna completely ignored him. “Are
you guys still having the ‘thing’? O my god, that’s long time ago, unnie…,” Hyuna looked at Haneul in
doubt, “you are not, right, unnie?”
she asked. Dongwoon touched her shoulder slightly, “What is it about?” he mouthed.
Hyuna put her finger to her lips, “Shh.”
“I need to pay Gayoon a buck when
she saw me coloring these nails with black.” Haneul muttered. “Oh, my pride!”
She face palmed herself.
“I thought they are friends.”
Dongwoon whispered to Hyuna’s left ear.
“Friends do have their ‘thing’,
you moron.” Hyuna glared at Dongwoon. “Why, oppa,
why? Stop talking, will you?” Then she turned to Haneul again. “Ahh, I almost forgot,
Gayoon unnie wants to see you by the
way, this weekend –or so—, she said she misses you a lot.” Haneul gazed her, “It’s
real, unnie, I am not lying…,” she
continued, “she bought you goods from Japan –you know, we have debuted there—right?”
“Ah, okay, I will drop by your
dorm soon.” Haneul replied. “But, I should erase this stupid black polish.” She
chuckled. “By the way, it’s kind of funny me worrying something like this.”
Haneul patted Hyuna’s shoulder. “Hyaa, Hyuna, how have you been doing –fine?”
Hyuna eyed Haneul –Dongwoon followed
her in instant—both of the youths didn’t believe with what they had faced—the
girl in front of them seemed possessed by something unseen—what the hell after frowning like something real bad happens over black
nail polish, now she smiles like nothing has ever bothered her? Does she have
something like –um-mental disorder?
“I—I am fine, unnie.” Hyuna smiled, awkwardly, “and by
the way, HI, GUYS, CAN YOU STOP BUZZ-ING AROUND?” Hyuna stood up, looking to
those girls who still hadn’t moved even an inch from the opposite desk, said in
rather high-voice but sounded sweet. Haneul looked at her amaze, celebrity must have possessed some kind of
supernatural thingy, she thought.
“Ah, unnie, mian –mian.. –hae—yo…,” And with that
those girls walked away and left the opposite desk while bowing to Hyuna and
Dongwoon--and probably Haneul too. Dongwoon laughed while palming his stomach. “Ha-ha-ha,
Hyuna, you funny… ha-ha-ha, did you learn that somewhere before, you look angry
but the sound kind of cute ha-ha-ha, you little—”
“I learnt it last night on acting
class, oppa.” She smiled, “I did
great, right, unnie?” She sat again,
clung onto Haneul’s arm. “Unnie, why
did recently you not come to practice room? So Hyun waiting for you too –beside
Gayoon unnie I mean…,” She leaned her
head to Haneul’s shoulder, “all of us want to meet you, unnie, you are best on consoling us –he-he-he.”
“Guys, please, don’t be like
this, you are celebs, and me a norm.”
Haneul said, trying to pull herself from
the clinging Hyuna.
“A norm?” Hyuna asked, Dongwoon too took a peak.
“Yeah, that’s a word I use to
call myself, hehe, a norm, me is a norm, Dujunie is a celeb.” Haneul chuckled. “It’s like a muggle to wizards.” She
continued.
“Ah, I read that, right, what was
that back then—” Hyuna fell to the deep thinking.
“It’s Harry Potter, you, moron!”
Dongwoon patted Hyuna’s forehead.
“Oppa, it hurts! Ah that, Harry Botter?” She clapped, excited by
herself, “What was that again, muggle meant?” Dongwoon gazed her with eyes on
fire, he couldn’t stand it, but Haneul gestured him to just ignore Hyuna’s
words.
“It’s Harry Po-tter, Hyuna! PO! Not
BO!” Someone talked behind my back. “Oh hi, Haneul!” Gikwang stood there, made
Haneul eyes widened, “And muggle is the term to address normal people, besides
wizards, Hyuna.” He chuckled. “And, by the way, norm isn’t the term you made yourself, Haneul-sshi. That’s the word from ‘The Prince and Me’ movie, right?” He
looked into Haneul’s eyes thoroughly.
“How—” Haneul stuttered, “how do
you know, Gikwang-sshi?”
“Me
too, watch movie, don’t I?” He smiled to three of them.
---
“So you are talking about being a
lower class –ah no, I mean the non-royal one.” Gikwang chuckled while buying
the popcorn. “So, Dujun is the lucky prince and you are his princess-to-be?” He
handed a cup of popcorn to Haneul who smiled shyly. “A norm, he-he-he…, you are a norm,
and me a celeb, what’s wrong with this world when we even eat the same popcorn…,”
He said –wisely huh?-while gestured Haneul to follow him sat on the desk while
waiting the cinema opened.
“You know, Gikwang-sshi, being a
norm, you won’t ever have that mask covering your face while you are watching
movie on cinema. Being a celeb, you live like that forever, how pitiful…,”
Haneul hissed, “and now, why you drag this
norm to even wear this mask around,
like a fool, uh –m” Haneul opened her eyes widely, because this boy feeding her
with a full-hand-popcorn! “—ugh … what are … you doing, exactly –ugh—ugh….”
“I am sorry…,” Gikwang laughed, “because
you are with a celeb now, so don’t
ruin everything, keep that mask on. I know what you think right now, you want
to remove that mask, right? No—no way—a norm
should obey the prince…,” Gikwang
laughed again, Haneul looked at him, -why
could I be here with this guy… to watch movie? Why he drag me along when
Dongwoon and Hyuna get their CF shooting? I couldn’t even retreat, he had
already bring me here, to watch –what was it—The Angry Bird?—oh no no—not that
one—um—I don’t recall it—um—that’s um The Hunger Games—oh well why I thought
about Angry Bird—isn’t that a game…—GOD, WHY THE HELL IS GIKWANG HERE WITH ME
EXACTLY?
