Well, it's been for awhile (a month?) after reviewing BEAST's 'Shadow' MV and now I have been corrupted by an MV which is so profound. I mean, I like it a lot and I want to write some stuffs. And, YAHOO, GD, this is so great! Okay, this time is GD's new MV, CROOKED. Well, I'm not going to review 'Coup D'etat' kkk because I'm afraid that I will probably ruin the real meaning hehehe (well, my brain is not good enough cough).
Soooo, this is the CROOKED MV from G-Dragon, take a sip first... eheheh:
Who doesn't know GD? Everyone knows him, right? He is the genius Big Bang leader. It must be quite weird because I am not a VIP but I'm writing about GD's MV. He-he-he. It is simply because this MV worth to be reviewed because he has given me (and maybe you) new (interesting) insight or if not he has supported my (some bad) habit(s) all this time. LOL.
What am I talking about? You guys get curious? So, don't click your next tab, okay? But, it's okay if you dislike my interpretation. He-he-he. It's just for fun, anyway, words are just words as long as it's in our mind, the thought will always be there, won't go anywhere if you are not walking around talking about it. So, for those who decided to read this shit, please sit on your chair and just taste it.
I like the intro of this song when GD appears as some different persons in the various lonely places. Why lonely? Because he is alone and none is there. The streets and alley are completely empty, none is there, only GD who is running away while somehow screaming (?) delivers to the spectators the feeling of wanting to let the frustration out. Besides, there is also part when GD is in the club with many people, but his facial expression is not happy at all, sending the loneliness inside him to us, the viewers (isn't it?).
Then, after that GD holds his head, like he gets so much pain in his head, or the headache is just so bad. After that we can see GD is going nanlina (crazy) by trying to disturb the couple who walk in front of him (just to get some fun). Yeah, how do I know that he just wants some fun? Because in the next scene it can be seen GD sits on the chair while hugging the basket ball and after that he chooses to ride the bicycle by himself, leave the basket ball on chair. It means he is alone and he doesn't have anyone around. After that, there is the scene where GD wants to get in to the club but the security rejects him. GD in this MV is completely a loner and no one pays attention to him. He is a loner, frustrated, and sad, thus he decides will be crooked. Tonight. Crooked by doing many rebel acts. Yeah.
But, do you know? All the things that he wants to do in order to heal his wound is just in his mind. No matter how hard he tries to be crooked, to be strong, or acting cruelty, he is just a normal person who needs others and also longing for love. Why I say so? Because in the end, we can see the crying GD. He is crying and passing out. For me, it's more like no matter how hard we people try to be happy and strong outside but deep inside we are just like that boy who sits on the closet crying in the box called heart. That's why instead of streets we see more corridors in the end of the MV gives me (us) some kind of the idea of imaginary border line that people are all actually timid while carrying their own problems. But, it's better to try to be rather different to release some stresses the world has given us than hold it instead. Just, in this MV GD asks us, what is crooked then if in the end you are still crying? I'll let you think by yourself. Huks.
Anyway, I love the idea GD chooses London to film this MV because he looks really like a marginal here. He just needs that to give us the lonely self and the loner feels. It is because he is is the only person who is Asian there, the others are foreigner. With this setting place, it has already been amazed me while connecting with the lyric itself and what he wants to share with us: the being different person, the being rejected person, and the wanting to seek happiness person. All of these happen because of the environment around him. Environment and society that see him as an odd and different one. Right? Look at closely it has been stressed on the scene where GD can't get into the club.
I feel like GD here is as the reflection of many people who feels living in his own world. So, it is not just a person, but some people or probably bunch of them. Yeah, anyone here always feel fit in on your society pretty well? Oh, if that really happens congratulation, you must have been living a very good life til now. You need to be grateful then, because some people feel what GD(s) feel in this MV.
